A 4,400 foot vertical rise makes Snowmass one of the tallest lift accessible mountains in North America while still having a relatively mild base area elevation in terms of Colorado ski destinations at 8,100 feet. 3,132 skiable acres, 91 trails, 24 lifts, and a longest run length of 5.3 miles rounds out an impressively abundant list of mountain statistics that in concert produce an uncrowded skiing experience to the tune of 2 skiers on the mountain per 5 acres of terrain on an average day.

Snowmass is solidly ensconced as an intermediate skier's paradise with a terrain breakdown of 6% beginner, 50% intermediate, 12% advanced, and 32% expert. Getting to Snowmass, Colorado

Snowmass is located in Western Central Colorado. The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is located only 3 miles from the town of Aspen and 6 miles from Snowmass Village making this an extremely convenient airport to fly into for your Aspen/Snowmass ski vacation. Many Aspen/Snowmass lodging properties offer complimentary shuttle service from the Aspen Airport to your accommodations. Otherwise we can easily arrange for private transfers to your Aspen or Snowmass accommodations. This is a well established and well traveled airport with about 150 weekly incoming flights and multiple commercial carriers. If you cannot find a flight that suits your needs based on price and/or itinerary flying directly into Aspen, your next most convenient airport is the Eagle County Airport located in Eagle, Colorado 70 miles from Aspen. Eagle County Airport services at least 5 commercial carriers arriving nonstop from 12 different US cities and an unlimited amount of connection opportunities from all over the country and the world. The Vacation Group aranges transfer service from Eagle to Snowmass or arrange for you to pick up a rental vehicle at the Eagle Airport to drive to Snowmass. Flying into either Grand Junction, located about 3.5 hours from Snowmass, or Denver, a 4.5 hour drive from Snowmass, are also options. When driving to Snowmass from Denver it is a pretty straight shot initially down Interstate 70 West for about 3 hours (180 miles) until you reach Glenwood Springs/Aspen Exit 116 and proceed on Hwy 82 south an additional 40 miles to Brush Creek Road leading into Snowmass.
