San Miguel River: Splashy, fast and fun, the San Miguel offers terrific rafting for guests of any experience level. Running the San Miguel requires constant manuevering and excellent teamwork. Grab a paddle and jump in the raft! Half day trips on class II-III water are available from late May through mid-July or early August most years. We begin just thirty minutes downstream from Telluride at Specie Creek and raft 9 miles to the Beaver Creek river access. During high water periods, we take advantage of our private boat ramp on the Cascabel Club property, 5 miles downstream from Beaver Creek. This allows us to offer a trip of suitable half-day length regardless of flows. On full day trips, we begin at either Specie Creek or Beaver Creek and run all the way to the Pinon Bridge through the Norwood Canyon of the San Miguel. The trip is 18-27 miles in length, depending upon flows, and passes through the most remote section of the San Miguel River watershed. Class II-III water is continuous for length of our journey, providing constant action for our paddlers. This is a special trip on one of the last undammed rivers in the Rockies. |
